About

Silvia Longhi (1984) is a photographer based in Treviso, Italy.

LONG STORY SHORT

After receiving the degree in Scienze e Tecnologie Multimediali with the highest marks, she gets interested in photojournalism through an internship at the Associated Press photo desk in Rome. In 2007 she moves to Barcelona to work for a fashion photography studio. During more than one year in Spain, she engages in humanistic photography focusing on intercultural dialogue and local traditions. Since her return to Italy in 2009, she has combined the profession of commercial photographer and digital retoucher with the investigation of cultural and social issues through reportage photography. In 2015, she’ s the recipient of the scholarship for the Masterclass in Photojournalism and Reportage at the WSP in Rome and works on the reportage “The way home” about home birth in Italy.

WHAT ABOUT NOW?

Among the latest freelance collaborations, she’s been working for several Italian architects, for Tripadvisor Experiences as content contributor and for Benetton Group as photographer and digital retoucher.

Her reportage approach, mixed with her retouching skills and commercial photography knowledge, has been appreciated in commissioned works by the International Monetary Fund for her coverage of the G20, by the Saudi Arabian pavilion during the Venice Biennale of Architecture and by Fabrica for her coverage of the events at the Research Center in Northern Italy.

She speaks fluently English, Spanish, and French, but forgot all of the German she used to know.

Il 2021 she has started a brand new project: a podcast named “Punctum – I racconti dei fotografi”
